Thank you for visiting my site!  Creating and composing art by hand and digitally is my passion!  The meaning of my name Alena is Light.  And Dawn is the time of day when light comes out of darkness.  I feel like my mission is life is to spread light.  My faith is the most important thing to me. Being a spiritualist, my goal is to uplift the world by spreading positivity and good energy to others.  When I am painting, I feel extremely connected to God and the universal energy flow.

Much of my art is influenced by the beautiful planet we live on.  Taking good care of mother earth is very important to me. Incorporating old objects that would be otherwise useless into my mixed media pieces is a way I am able to recycle.  In the past I have donated art for causes such as Defending the Endangered wildlife fund,  and the Peace Project.

Recently I have been using many old records for canvases and collaging.   Music has always been a huge influence on my artistic style and where my use of some darker elements come from.  For the public fan memorial of Chester Bennington, acclaimed singer of the band Linkin Park, I created a large multi-media collage painting showcased at the event in Grand Park Los Angeles.  Later the painting was shown in the Fallen Stars-Lost Music Legends Showcase.

I graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. My first solo collection Devastation Inspiration was featured at Papi's Gallery in downtown Los Angeles for two months.  The collection was inspired by natural disaster and human emotion.  The collection had over 30 pieces including acrylic, mixed-media paintings and photography.

Since then I have participated  in many artist showcases in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.  Some of the major events I have been a part of are First Fridays Los Angeles, Art Walk DTLV, NOHO Art Walk, Fashion Week LA, Seattle International Fashion Week, Seattle Style Week.   My work has been featured in MF(Music Fashion) Magazine, Northwest Stylist Magazine (Cover Contest winner), Runway Magazine, Underground Magazine (Cover Model & Featured Designer), various music videos and  films. To blend my passion for art and fashion I have created my own line of artistic street wear called Abstract Dawn.

I hope you enjoy my site and feel free to reach out to me with any questions or requests for design or commissioned art work. Have a blessed day! Sending you love and light!  -Alena Dawn
